## The brief on file

Viv — decide what /analytics/compare is for. STILL OPEN, but narrower than it was. Round 14 fixed the copy; the product question is Matthew's.

PREMISE CORRECTED — the original said "Currently reachable and linked from nav." Half false. AnalyticsSectionNav.tsx:8-16 has exactly seven entries and compare is NOT one of them; `git grep -n "analytics/compare" -- apps/web` finds only the route file, AgentContextProvider.tsx:292 (a pathname->context mapper, not a link), and analytics-authed.spec.ts. So it is reachable BY URL and linked from NOWHERE — which made this task's own escape hatch ("or gate it behind a beta flag") close to a no-op, since there is no nav entry to hide.

WHAT ROUND 14 FIXED. The page rendered engineer's ticket text straight to customers: "EntitySelector (multi-select) lands in §1.2. For now, open Compare with a query string — e.g. ?actions=abc1234,xyz5678" and "Compare grid is under construction (§2.1.2–6). The §1.1 entity-aware hooks handle per-entity fetching". It was instructing a customer to hand-edit a URL. Worse, it was PINNED: analytics-authed.spec.ts asserted the §1.2 sentence was visible, so the passing condition of a test was that internal jargon stayed on screen — the same shape as the four 308s #307 found pinned as if correct.

Both strings are now plain user-facing copy, the Playwright assertion is re-pointed, and tests/unit/analytics-no-internal-notation.test.ts fails if section notation ever returns to a rendered string in any analytics page.

ALSO FOUND, and NOT in the original scope: DeepDivePage.tsx:269 rendered the same jargon ("EntitySelector lands in §1.2...") on its empty state. Fixed in the same change.

WHAT REMAINS — a product call, deliberately not made by an agent: should a non-functional Compare surface exist at all? It is unreachable from the UI, so today it costs nothing and confuses nobody who does not type the URL. Options: build the multi-select, put it behind a beta flag AND add a nav entry so the flag means something, or delete the route. Route deliberately NOT deleted.
