## The brief on file

Caitlin — verify media actually works from upload to a stranger watching it. Done when: for video, audio, a document and a gallery — upload from each surface, confirm transcoding completes, then scan the tag on a phone that is not signed in and confirm the media plays or renders correctly, on both wifi and cellular. WHY THIS PASS IS NEEDED: the transcoder is built and has a full deploy runbook, but nothing has verified the whole chain from a customer's phone through to a scanner's phone. Known thing to watch: the iOS video viewer is called with no content argument at all, so video preview inside the app is expected to fail even if public playback works — confirm both separately rather than assuming one proves the other.
