## The brief on file

RESOLVED 2026-08-07. The blockage is gone and the web half is built.

WHAT WAS TRUE: all five logo snapshot fields were read by nothing outside their own type declaration. Web was right to refuse building a crop control whose every output would be discarded.

WHAT LANDED (backend, PR #276 / commit 7eddeb24):
  · snapshot.ts gained logoImageData + logoImageTransform.
  · center-element.ts gained centerElementFromSnapshot(), which derives a
    CenterElement from the five fields and maps logoCropRectNormalized →
    CenterElement.cropRect (packages/qr-studio/src/center-element.ts:105-141).
  · renderCarriedDesign falls back to it when the caller passes center: null
    (packages/qr-studio/src/render-carried.ts:287).
  · the crop rect is honoured in the compositor, not merely stored
    (packages/qr-studio/src/render-carried.ts:220-242).

WHAT #276 STOPPED ONE STEP SHORT OF, and what the web round-9 session fixed:
  1. centerElementFromSnapshot was NOT exported from packages/qr-studio/src/index.ts.
     The only possible callers were the package's own tests via a deep source
     import. A reader nothing can reach fails the same way the inert fields did.
  2. NOTHING on any web surface WROTE logoImageData. Verified by grep: the only
     hits outside the type declaration and the tests were the Figma plugin's
     onRequestImageUpload callback signature. So the new reader was still dark.

Both closed on feature/web: the export is added, web-mobile's upload now
persists logoImageData + logoCropRectNormalized + logoEnabled, an interactive
LogoCropControl writes a non-destructive rect, and designFromRecord
reconstructs the logo when a saved code is reopened so the round trip closes on
the read side too.

NON-OBVIOUS INVARIANT worth keeping: the crop rect MUST be square in PIXEL
space. injectCenter renders a non-identity crop with preserveAspectRatio="none"
(render-carried.ts:238), so a rect that is not square in pixels renders a
STRETCHED logo. apps/web-mobile/features/qr/lib/logo-crop.ts enforces it
(squareRectAt) and pins it (isSquareInPixels).

STILL OPEN, tracked on t_793bdeda: the DESKTOP studio (apps/web/features/qr)
has no logo upload control at all, so it has no crop control either. Its
blanket refusal to restyle any logo-bearing code is now narrowed to the case
where the bytes are genuinely absent, but adding upload + crop there is
outstanding work, not done.

STILL OWED BY iOS: logoSliderValue's semantics are not settled.
sizeIdxForSliderValue accepts both plausible encodings and says so; the iOS
session should confirm which and DELETE the wrong branch rather than leave both.
