## The brief on file

PR #281's commit message says "Filed separately: that compactMap discards unmappable rows with no log and no count, so a 15th type added server-side would vanish from every asset list silently." It was never actually filed — a search of all tactile tasks returns zero hits for compactMap, unmappable, or either file path. This is that task.

TWO SITES, both on main at b09acbeb:

inside a `compactMap`. A row whose `type` the client does not recognise is dropped with no log, no counter, and no user-visible signal. The list simply renders shorter. Add a 15th destination type server-side and it disappears from every asset list on iOS, and the app reports success.

This is the same failure family as the anon-read bug in t_ccdb29bb and as `(try? await …) ?? []` in the same file: a silent fallback that is indistinguishable from "there was nothing there." That is precisely what let the anon-read outage survive.

WHAT TO DO:
 1. Keep dropping the row — rendering an unknown type would be worse — but count and log it. At minimum a single `assertionFailure` in DEBUG plus a one-line `print`/os_log in Release carrying the unmapped raw value and the total dropped count for that fetch.
 2. Better: surface it. If `dropped > 0`, the Assets list should say so rather than silently under-report ("2 items need a newer app version"). That turns a silent data loss into a prompt to update.
 3. Add a test that feeds the mapper a DTO with an unknown `type` string and asserts the drop is *observed* — assert on the emitted count/diagnostic, not on the resulting array length. A length assertion passes for the wrong reason and would not have caught this.

CONTEXT WORTH KNOWING: the current DB has exactly the 14 canonical types (verified 2026-08-08 against prod: document 150, notes 36, gallery 25, action 19, website 14, contact 10, menu 8, form 7, payment 4, bluetooth 2, audio 2, video 2, wifi 2, link_hub 1). So nothing is being dropped today — this is a trap for the next type, not a live outage. Do not conflate it with t_ccdb29bb, which IS live.
