## The brief on file

Viv — surface the real serving model in the agent chat header. DONE (round 14).

DESCRIPTION REWRITTEN — the original was wrong about the bug and would have led a session into a gate failure. It said: "File: apps/web/app/(app)/agent/page.tsx:141 (hardcoded 'Connected · claude-sonnet')". That literal was removed by PR #293 and is now BANNED: tests/unit/agent-header-no-model-literal.test.ts greps the whole page file — comments included — for vendor model prefixes, and separately rejects a bare '>Connected ·' in JSX. Anyone following the old description toward re-adding a name would have failed the gate. The status logic also no longer lives at :141; it is AgentStatusLine.

The real gap was the inverse and postdated the description. Round 13 (#304) plumbed turn_end.model end to end on the SERVER side; no client read it, so the header said a bare "Connected" while the stream carried the name of the model that actually served the turn.

Landed: useAgent captures event.model on every turn_end (?? null, so a turn without one CLEARS the previous name rather than inheriting it — the field is absent, not empty, on stubbed turns), exposes it, and AgentStatusLine renders `Connected · ${model}` as a variable, never as JSX text. Branch order stays error -> isRunning -> !turnResolved -> stubbed -> model, so a stubbed turn can never show a name.

Proof: 3 new cases in apps/web/playwright/agent.spec.ts, run via `pnpm --filter ./apps/web test:agent`, streaming a model string whose only path into the DOM is the SSE stream. Baseline 20/20 green, then three mutations (drop the hook capture; revert the render; hoist model above stubbed) each turned it red.
